F2 to F70

I am assuming I have made a good upgrade going from a F2 to a F70. I am now re-re-re-reading the operating manual of the F70 before the detector arrives. It looks like a very, very good machine.

It is coming with the 11" DD coil, which I wanted, but it does not have a sniper sized coil, which I use in tot-lots. I have troubles getting up and down from the ground because of arthritis and old age, so I only work beaches and tot-lots. (Tot-lots can be done with the F70, my foot and pin-pointer while standing up, since am not allowed to dig.)

I will use the larger coil in the tot-lots if I have to. The small coils for the F70 are over a hundred dollars on EBay and it gets worse buying a new one. I assume my sniper coil from the F2 (5.9 KHz) will not operate very well with the F70 (13 KHz.) I guess I could see if it works, but I doubt it.

Are their any other sources for a small coil for the F70?

Looking forward to using the F70. If we can keep having days in the 50's and 60's in Northern Ohio, maybe I can get out before Spring. This is one strange December in NE Ohio.

Take care, everyone. Mary Christmas and have a great New Year.

It will pay for itself in no time at all................... :)

I did the same 2 years ago, best move I ever made in this hobby but I hunt all kinds of sites, also.
The big coil can be used it tot lots.
Higher sense it goes deep, lower the sense in still goes deep if you need it too.
Turn it down to under 50, try 30-40 even, and that has the effect of tightening up that scanning field to almost seem like you are hunting with a small sniper coil with laser-like accuracy.
Still gets pretty deep even at 30, also, if your lots have deeper targets.

The standard elliptical coil works great in all kinds of situations in case you come across one at a good price, the 5" DD sniper is worth its weight in gold and silver...literally.
All 3 of those coils are as a matter of fact.

Have fun.

I see I posted "Mary" Christmas.

As cute as she was, I guess Merry Christmas would be more appropriate. :)

Never heard nothing but good comments from people who have the f70 including my little brother CZ5. This machine is probably the best value of all the detectors out there, I'm thinking my next upgrade will be the F70.

An oldie but goodie for sure! It is a very good upgrade from the F2. Stick with it and you can run with the big dogs!

I have the F70 i keep as a backup. I got it before the f75camo and it is a fantasic machine. Can go very deep. Achieved a lot of first with it. CO

The F-70 and F-75 use the same coils. Here is a link for Fischer's coil page. The chart at the bottom of the page is quite wide, so you will have to scroll to see it all.

Ebay is where I buy a lot of coils, (used if possible).

Or if you ask here on the Classified Forum . Someone here may have what your looking for.
