F2 vs F4

I was thinking about buying a detector for a backup and was curious how the F2 measured up to the F4 as far as depth and reliability. I realize it does not have as many bells and whistles but how does the basic performance compare?

I looked into the gap where the sound comes out of a F2 and the circuit board was marked F4. Same detector just a few less features. Go the F2 with three coils and a free pinpointer from some e-dude on the web. Having more than one product on the same board is quite common in electronics.

The Main reason I went for the F4 over the F2 was the fact the F4 shares the same High Quality standard Coil as the F75 Plus the extra coil provided with the F4 seemed a better deal. As far as F4/F2 performance dont know....But everyone seems more that happy wether they use the F2 or F4

We bought both... the f2 with the three coils and the f4 with the dd so we get two detectors and the range of coils.

Does anyone know if the DD coil, that comes with the F4, will work on the F2? Also, does anyone know if any Fisher coils will work on any Bounty Hunters?

Yep, all the F2 and F4 coils are completely interchangable with the BH units. I ran the 11" DD coil that is made for the F2/F4 on a BH Tracker IV with no problems.
