F4 Question on Threshold

Hi if anyone can tell me if their is a simple fix. I have an F4 that I bought New from kellyco in July. Used it about 150 hours.

In All Metal mode, I have learned to ground balance , however the the Threshold button does not seem to move the bars on the screen either up or down. I know the button works since I use the same button to move in the menu in DISC mode. Has this happened to anyone before? I still hunt with it and dont know what the Threshold does anyhow with this detector. Then again I didnt know how to Ground balance and it seems to make a big difference.
 
When I am ground balancing, I press the threshold pad + or - to adjust the audible hum which was created when I adjust the sensitivity to get the initial hum level. I dont remember ever looking at bars for a threshold hum, only the bars for the sensitivity level. The F4 manual, pages 11 and 12 give a reasonable description of how to adjust the ground balance and using the threshold hum. HH
