F44?

Any f44 users that can tell how this detector performs and if anyone has tried the 11" DD coil on it?

I don't recall trying the 11 DD coil on it but I must have since I had both an F5 with 11 DD and that detector at one point. I found many goodies with it but I found it too noisy/chattery for my taste. Mine was an early model. It's possible that it's been modified/updated somewhat since then. I would recommend trying before buying if you can. The depth of the F44 was impressive with the stock coil.

I wrote to Fisher a while back with coil compatibility questions regarding the F44 and was assured ALL coils for the F5/Greek series would be fully compatible despite the minute difference in frequency.

It's pretty much my only land unit I use now.. tho I don't hunt all that much any more.. Anyway the only switch I made was to use the NEL sharpshooter coil on it.. It Id's really well and gets very respectable depth in my area of the state. . Not minelab deeeep, but its not supposed to be..

Thanks for the replies, got a chance to pick up a used one, maybe I'll get it for those rainy days.

That's when I used mine the most. I had no worries in the rain. The back light was useful in those conditions as well.

My favorite part of the F44 is the custom mode. Being able to assign tones to each block is great. Depth is good to. Overall a a good detector with some nice features for its price range.
