F5 as a beach machine

:How do you find the F5 on the beach. Can you discriminate out pull tabs, bobby pins and, rusty iron?
I still want to be able to pick up coins. ( in Australia we have $1.00 and $2.00 coins) This makes it feasible to loose some of the smaller stuff.
I have heard very good things about it's performance and some poor comments on build quality.Would anyone be able to give it a comparison vs Garretts AT Pro?
Thanks

Mine works fine at the beach. Wet salt will always be a problem with most detectors, but the dry sand is no problem for the f5. That's where I find 95% of the good stuff. A little noisy in wet wet sand but will pick up rings down to about 8" or so. G.B best you can and go for it.

i dont know if your $1, and $2 coins are made the same as our canadian clad, but if they are, you will want little to no discrimination.
our $1 coins sound like iron, and the f5 will try to make you think youve got 2 targets on the $2...it tries to separate the coin, you will get a low grunt, and then a quick scratchy high tone.

I wonder if any US coins give a response like that? I had a target the other day like that and passed it as I made it out to be two low targets, lower than I was diggin that day.
