F5 IN AM MODE?

Woodchuck

New member
IF you run the F5 in AM mode in general will it give you a wider range of VDI numbers in general ? And in AM will it give you a better chance of finding more valuables? Anybody on this ?

Numbers will be the same but depth is increase by about 25%

test it out

as soon as you click into discrim' you loose depth

air test and see the difference

Yep, Alimo is right. AM is noticably deeper, but takes more concentration. I usually start my hunts in AM but I find it fatigues me quickly.

I haven't noticed the VDI numbers are different in AM, the VDI and audio work independently on the F5.

perhaps, if you hear and see the VDI of targets that would have been rejected in the Discriminate mode. :)

I often search in All Metal, and have through the years with different brands, but a lot depends upon the site you're hunting, the target type and count, and your patience level. I often opt to search in motion Disc. mode, but accept all targets and that can give me a little 'edge' over running with some rejection. Not as much as a true All Metal mode, with most models, but it's a happy trade-off a lot of the time.
