) and all the other posters that I can find regarding this machine. I played around a little with an old analog White's Coinmaster I found at a yard sale several years ago. Man that thing went through batteries!, and most recently with a White's Prizm II that I have on loan from my father in law. Finally decided to bite the bullet. I was on the fence between this one, and a Tesoro Vaquero or an Outlaw. I live across the Columbia River from Portland, OR, and about 80 miles from the coast. Several folks I talked to said this would be a better choice for getting near the salt for ground balance, but more importantly, after reading this group vs. the Tesoro group, it seamed that there was a general consensus among the Fisher F5 posters that this is on heck of a versatile machine. So after calling around to several vendors, Bart, over at Big Boys Hobbies hooked me up with an F5 DD, with an extra 5" DD and a Garrett Pro Pointer. I'll get it in time before the monsoon season here passes by, and should have the short version of a basic understanding when the good weather hits. I'm anxious to go through my yard and my daughters yard and see what the Prizm missed!

It's sunny out this afternoon, and about 48 degrees, and it's driving me a little nuts! 20% chance of rain tomorrow AM and partly sunny in the afternoon, so I should get to play a little if the UPS guy gets here before midnight. I've been keeping an eye on the weather you folks have been having in the Midwest and the East coast, and I don't envy you at all. I'll see what I can do about sending a little of this weather your way. Our only problem here isn't really a problem, but it's just that this time of year in Portland, it rains darn near non-stop. Not hard rain like you guys get, but pretty persistent. But I suppose if I can work in it, I can play in it too, as I was smart enough to buy a rain cover for the detector while I was at it
