F5 re chargeable batteries

I have used rechargeables in place of Standard in all Detectors that took 9V with no problem.

A popular electronics store sells very good ones.

Yes you can. Very econmical. I use them now in my Tek 6000. Feebay has 9 volt rechargeables. They even have the new 9 volt lithium Ion batteries. They have a 2 pack of 9 volt batteries with charger from $25-50. Very cool set up.

I have been using 9.6V NIMH rechargeables from Powerex for about two years now. Batteries fit well without having to worry about breaking the plastic battery retaining tabs. Saves ya a lotta Ching.

After using rechargeables all sizes...9 volt ones just don't seem to last long...As long as a good alkalines lasts in an F5 really don't see the logic of using a rechargeable in this unit comes to mind..
Now I know some 9 volt units eat batteries but with an F5 expect a lot of hunting time from a good alkaline...

I agree with Dan. I've got a lot of hours on my F5 over the last two weeks, but it's still showing a full charge. If I can get close to the advertised 40 hours it will cost me 5 cents an hour on Energeizers. That's the most fun you're gonna have for 5 cents an hour.

I've thought about rechargeable batteries in the past but my F70 gets insane amount of battery life, I decide it really was a non-situation.

Best regards,

Russ
