F5 total in coins

I thought I'd share my F5 coin finds with you all. I have had my F5 for 1.5 seasons now and here is what it has produced

That is 1635 euros (USD 2200) worth of usable coins. That makes a bit under 4400 coins. Looks like I need to buy a new treasure chest ;)

Patti,
I just now had a work associate ask me about the ROI (return on investment) of metal detecting. I gave him a long rambling "what if" answer. I should have just sent him a link to your post.

Impressive!

Wow Patti, that is truely impressive!!! If you averaged a coin dig 2/3rds of the time, that's 7300 digs in 1.5 seasons!!! LOL

At this rate you'll be able to fill an entire house in a lifetime. :D

Thanks guys  Actually my total number of coins in 1.5 seasons is a tad under 6000 coins. I left out the non-usable modern ones and those hundreds of years old coins.

I bought a 5" coil for this season and boy, has it been magnificent! I got to a point with the 5 incher where I dug a pocketfull of coins and only 1/4 pocketfull of trash per session! Luckily these euro coins that we have have IDs which are pretty easily distinguished from all the trash in the same ID range of 52-62. This little coil makes it so easy with its super separation. I have the 11" coil too but it produces way too much trash so what I lose in sweeping speed with the 5" coil I make up many times in digging less trash and more coins

Hi, yes it may seem unbelievable at first and I am sure most people dismiss this as a hoax. But a little background data will help. I've been md'ing about 250 days in the last 1.5 seasons of which about 200 times searching for modern coinage. That makes only about 22 coins on average per session to get to 4400 coins which is nothing. My best sessions have been in the range of 50 euros (ab. 70 USD) per session which is well over 100 coins so in all, it is really easy to get to those numbers above. You gotta love the european euro because once euro was adopted the number of coins in your pockets multiplied by at least two and it really shows on the beaches and parks when compared to older coin sets.

Congrats, nice find! :) I have 6 gold rings this summer, mostly from the surf but all my rings put together barely make 17 grams. They are mostly tiny women's rings 14 & 18 k but two have some stones in them so could be a bit more expensive ones.

I believe you. Nice work. 6,000 coins is lots of digging and bending. It takes a lot of hot baths to keep going like that. Super detecting.... Happy Trails......Z
