F70 and hunt #146 for the season

It is 80 degrees today and just had to get out and do some hunting. Worked a soccer field today and found 30 coins using the 6.5" coil around the bleachers.
This was my #146 hunt and I had to put in my 8th set of batteries for the season. My coin collection is now at 3241 coins worth $232.54 for the season.
I always have this feeling that people think that the new Fishers are a fragile not very dependable detectors. I probably have over 300 hunts using my F70 this summer and last summer and I have never had a problem with the detector. I had one coil problem and that was replaced. It stays in the trunk and I dig it out when I am ready to hunt. I move it over when I put the groceries in the trunk. I have found over 7,000 coins and a lot of jewelry using the F70. I just sent my gold into ARA and waiting to hear from them. I have found 25 rings this summer. Didn't count the rings or the number of times I went out hunting last summer I just counted the coins. I am a coin hunter.
The F70 is very easy to use and it works great. Thanks for reading and Happy Trails....Z

I'm still looking for my first solid copper, silver or gold anything. However, this past weekend, I made two trips to the same park and found 153 pennies (oldest 1965), 30 quarters, 51 dimes, 33 nickels, 5 arcade tokens, one very old pair of Lacross fingernail clippers, 1 hairclip, two keys, two unknown pieces of metal and a small rock that, surely, has to be a valuable meteorite!!!

Roland that is some good nickel count. I think my top on nickels is 12 in a hunt and on a week end I don't think I have even have hit 20 nickels yet.
Last week Dave and I were in a small gully and we dug 114 coins in a 20'x30' area. We had to make sure we put our detectors down in the right place to dig a target because the detectors would be so close they would start singing to each other. Dave hit the first wheat 1944 and than I got 1929 wheat. We were digging 1965 dimes and quarters but none got to be the magic year. We are going back in the next few weeks to finish the rest of the area.
I guess what I am saying is just keep going out and have fun and those older coins will appear. They are all over the place and all you have to do is dig them up. Don't worry about them just have fun.
Thanks for reading and Happy Trails....Z

Thanks, zee. Yeah, I am having a great time with my F75, although, 5 or 6 hours of hunting wears me out.....mainly the getting down and back up. It's tough on this old bod. On the nickels, I have found that a solid 29-30 VDI is almost certainly a nickel.....a tab does sneak in there once-in-a-while.
This MD'ing stuff is really addictive. I think I must be the only one in the world that digs zinc.....

I find the same with nickels on the F70. When the readings are 29-30 with the coin sound it is almost always a nickel. But when the readings are 31-34 it usually a tab but not always. It could be a nickel. So I dig a lot of pull tabs. I use 4H tones and if I get that coin sound with no other sound in there I dig.
Thanks for reading and Happy Trails...Z
