F70 Coil Question

JaWi.

Have a F70 on its way and wondering what you all think would be the extra coil of choice for trashy areas? Been detecting for many years but have never owned a F70. Hope to be a fine unit for coins and jewelry? Thanks Joe

For heavy trash--round 5" DD.

D&P is correct. 5" DD is a must have coil. It is awesome in the heavy trash areas you will be detecting..

I opted for the little "Football" coil as some call it. it's like 3.5"X 6". I can't say how great it is due to the fact I've just not gotten to do much metal detecting at all this season.
My brother Ron uses the football a lot and he really likes it.

So, I've ended up with two coils for my F70 the 11"dd and the 3.5"X 6" I sold the 10" Concentric only because money is so tight right, not because I didn't like it.

I have 3 coils for the F70. The 10" standard, 11"DD and the 6.5" football coil. I use the 6.5" 100% of the time. I detect beaches, fields, parks, schools with the 6.5" coil. It is light and it gets close to poles/fences and is good in trashy areas. I do detect in trashy areas a lot and by slowing up and picking out the targets, even close together ones I can get the good ones out of the trash. I can swing it for hours and come back the next day and do it all over without a sore arm. Easy to pin point gets good depth. I have dug targets at 5-7". I have had the 6.5" coil as long as I have had the F70. It became my preferred coil after using the others and not liking them for personal reasons. I have never had the 5" coil and I don't think I would gain anything or little by getting the 5". It seems that a number of the guys have good results with the 5" coil. Thanks for reading and hope you like the one you pick? Happy Trails....Z

Congrats on your F70 purchase Joe. I doubt if you could go wrong with any of the coils choices Fisher offers for the 70. Just depends the type of hunting you choose to do. Hard to find a better mid priced detector----Happy Hunting------IB

The above covers it all....

The F70 is a good machine, the set ups are endless and I'm still learning.I have the standard coil and used it about 6 weeks and had some nice finds with it, bought a NEL sharpshooter,I like it alot and I tend to slow my swing with it,finding coins under nails and pull tabs.I also bought a 5'' coil, had it out about 10 times and did find silver, IH and Wheats,I put the sharpshooter back on---I just like the sharpshooter,--------------after1-------

I just stuck the 5"DD back on mine and went back to hunting one of the trashiest parks I have ever visited.
Been here plenty of times before with lots of detectors and coils but with my F70 and this coil I am plucking out some goodies I missed in previous hunts.
I live in trashy areas and I have small snipers for all my detectors...and use them.

I have the NEL snake coil for my F75 but haven't had a chance to use it yet. It may give the little 6.5" concentric a run for the money. Hoping I would see some reports on this coil, but so far not much talk about it.
