F70 in hunt #1 for 2014

New member
Well, just turned 73 and have been thinking all winter if I want to continue metal detecting? Last summer sucked! Winter was long and should I continue hunting? It was so nice yesterday I just had to go out and try another hunt. I really needed a park bench to get up and down. This is what I came up with for a park bench. If you have a bottle of Windex and some duck tape you can survive. It was hard carrying the Lecshe, screw driver and cane in one hand so I went back to car and got my yellow duck tape out and the cane I have in the trunk. This is what I came up with. I just may make another summer of detecting... Thanks for looking and Happy Trails.... Z

Alright! Good to see you again, Jerry. :clapping: I thought we lost you in some form or fashion! Theres a lot of new 70 users on here that could learn from your experience with this rig...Glad you are getting out, you know its better for you than sitting around in the house!:clapping:

Mr. Zeekeys, I haven't "met" you before but I've read enough of your past posts and posts by others mentioning you here while studying up on the F70 to feel like I almost have. :). I'm very glad you are back for another season of metal detecting and that your innovative idea with the duct tape worked! Happy hunting sir, and I hope you have the best year of it yet! :clapping:

welcome back MR. Zeek, looking forward to more of your hunts, good luck on rigging up your digging routine.

Mud as always good to hear from you and looking forward to reading those enjoyable posts all summer.:bouncy:
Beep your the reason why I posted about the F70. I hoped that someone would get the idea that the F70 was a great detector for coin hunting.:clapping:
Rob glad to hear from you again. It should be a good summer if the portable bench (cane) works out. Already thinking a way to attach the screwdriver and pin pointer on to the cane. :wiggle:
Thank you guys for the kind words. I didn't want to post anything all winter because I really have been thinking of getting into knitting/crossword puzzles, these are not so hard on the body as detecting. :detecting: I like coin hunting and for almost 5 years I have been telling people how good the F70 is for coin hunting. I see by the recent posts there are some very good F70 users posting with many good finds. Good work and glad to be a part of your group. Happy Trails....Z

Hey Z, sure glad to see you out and about. You know, if there is the will, there is a way....and looks like you found it. Nice innovative way to solve the problem. HH jim tn

Mud is right Z....stay active at something you love. My little Italian mother use to say, in Irish,....It-ain't easy McGee.....man was she right.

Looks like the walking stick needed a splash of color anyway.

Good luck and HH

Yeah, Zeek...You set the standard we F70's whiskers try to aspire to! I remember the multiple century days you would crank out...depleting clad and jewelry in the Milwaukee area...speed sweeping, deep neg thresh, shallow sens running park pickin' totlottin' curbstrippin" to be danged!....theres a few of your brothers over in Cheese Country that might step up and take you into some honey holes over there, fair trade for your knowledge of reading a site and getting F70 busy on it...Or, someday, jump on the cross lake High Speed Express, (they sell beer on it you know!) and come and chill with me for a little, bring the Wife, I'm sure our girls would get along just fine garage sailing, thrift malling, talking trash about us behind our backs!...

In fact, I see a gold ring or chain in your future soon! That last ring you got was a beauty!..and I know you got a few more century days to put in, once you work the creak out of your bones a little warming up steady, you will be right back in it!...That cane looks awesome! Its like a weapon of some sort! :starwars: Maybe I'll rig one up for you with a 12ga shell on the end to use as a "bang stick" for keeping the sharks off hunting in the deep urban red zone!...boy! that would make the papers! lmfao:

Good for you ZEE, Great Idea.......... Keep hunting , it keeps you young... Your only as old as you feel...

Hay Jim I think it is a good year for silver coins and you probably will get over 100 again. I am still looking for that wood nymph you saw. I hope it is my year for that. Heck with all the silver and gold.:clapping:
Steve my mother gave me one heck of a piece of advice when I left home. Watch out for all those nasty women. That is exactly what I did......:bouncy:
Shadowulf if my portable bench doesn't work I will probably have to buy a new cane because all the gunk the cane has on it from tape and ground dirt.
Mud I don't know if you want to hear: And another thing..... I told you so.... Many times a day???? My wife is very happy to see me go out detecting in the morning and hoping I will be gone for a few hours. She loves me metal detecting. I am gone....... :clapping::clapping:
Shooter I have had plenty of really great ideas but no one else thinks so.....
