F75 and 1910 School ? Not good do not read unless you want negative reading.

My first really bad experience with F75..Used 6" coil...Tried DE Preset

I ground balanced and immediately started getting false target readings..ID jumping around like crazy..Lowered Sens.to 40 from 60..No Good, machine still
acted up.
Erratic all the way..Even pinpoint mode would not pinpoint on the targets. I was able to get a fair reading on. It seemed to go into overdrive when attempting to pinpoint..Could not isolate a target for digging...So I thought OK. Lets dig a few of those crappy iffy could not identify targets..Hmmmm nothing found..Not even junk.
Took Sens down to 30...same thing.............Not able to detect. Gave up went to a local park..Did find money..Clad , a few pieces..machine was better but not good.. Pinpoint did work on this sight...Machine still sounded a little iffy in De mode Preset sens at 45 at second hunt sight..

Anyone have any ideas why a very good operating F75 would suddenly act up, be erratic, and totally unable to detect the old school, or park area. ???

Both locations were within 3 blocks of each other. Park not much more than a tot lot..but of 40 50 year old time era Not a new tot lot.

Let me know your thoughts. Also be aware this has always been a good stable machine before todays attempt..I did not have time to go outside of city..

You may have seen today what I see with the F70 at certain sites.

If there is a lot of trash, you really need to turn the sens down. Dont be afraid to lower it to 10 or even less.

I have become so accustomed to having to run the F70 with a sens of 10ish that I was shocked today that I could run it near max sens without hardly a blip at another area.

IMO, its a very hot unit and letting you know there is plenty of action under the coil.

What I have done in the past is experimented with deep live targets. What I would do is upon detecting a deep small target I would reduce the sens until I could go no lower and still hear it. I have been able to hear em all no matter how deep at a setting of 10. Sometimes I run it down to 5 or even ONE and still have it outperform most other units. By doing this test, it provided me confidence to continue to use the F70 with low sens settings and not lose sleep over the fact it is set low.

Try going way low and see what happens.

Best of luck to ya.

(Batteries were good & had good contact-loop cable tight and sticking straight out.]
[Did you try a factory reset]?
Did you shift frequencies? Did you try both loops?
Make sure you do not put sens. below 30-stay well above 30. Do a fast grab, then a manual
to get it perfect. [If you run sens below 30 you will have a constant noise that you can't get rid of-like a lawn mower engine.]
Try running disc up to 20, and different sensitivities-and shift freqs,
and run in the DE mode.[did it also affect all metal motion & stat?]
Do it at a much different time of the day. Many times schools will have everything powered up,
regardless if anyone is there. Any construction going on? You might also run a ground balance where it goes silent
as it reaches the ground; also try motion all metal and go into the negative threshold-as far as it takes[a little known secret is
that you can do this while adding sens.]
If that doesn't work use a different maker/brands, something preferably as low
as you can get from 15kHz and try several type/ maker of loops.
Then see if the results change.

I did not have the coil connection all the way in..It fits very tight and it was only in about 3/4 of the way. Soon as I discovered this, pushed it in, and re tightened machine started working as it should..So check your connections..It's easy not not to push it all the way in.. Best fitting connections I have ever used....If you get it right:rofl: Pretty dumb on my part..
