F75 and small coil help

Doug[Manila]

New member
Hi All,
I hunt a moderate to trashy site and I like the quick target response of the F75. I find that the large coil stable but the small coil seems to be erratic...something I didn't expect. The tones on the small coil don't seem to be solid tones too. Wonder if this is due to the fact that it is concentric rather than a DD coil. I hunt at DE, Disc 5, Sens 30-40, no notches. My GB is at 89-92, FE304 at .3 to 1 which is for highly mineralized ground. Do you have to slow down the sweep w/ the Fishers in bad ground? Let's hear some tips. TIA!

I have a Tesoro, Quattro and XT70 all with the small coils and they seem to be performing much more stable in this soil than the one that comes with the F75.

if your below 6......your running in Enhanced mode.....and that may be the source of your problems. The little concentric Shooter is a hot little coil, and if your hunting a trashy site, the enhanced mode may be overwhelming it. JE or enhanced mode makes it REAL sensitive to real small conductors, and I'm betting you have tons of tiny iron debris at your site.
I'd change the Disc setting....and maybe then you can bump up the sens a tad. let us know how you make out................. Streak!

also if he's huntin' in manila, then he really does have s**t for soil!..very high mineralization present!..iron,and trash everywhere!

at what sens can you run your F-75 with mineralization as bad as mine (88-92), Fe3O4 (.3 - 1)? I was probably between 30-40 when I found a musketball at 3 inches.

yes!..dating way back to the spanish occupation!

like everywhere else, run it at the most stable "gain" setting!

you need to use whatever detector will run the most stable in YOUR ground!
