F75 Beach Hunting

has anybody been beach hunting with the standard Fisher F75?

I have been researching the forums, but have found very little on the subject, especially on the modes used.

Looking forward to anybody that can enlighten me!

Thanks a bunch

Before I got my LTD I had a good bit of time in with the F 75 and had it to the beach on three or four occasions. No problem in the dry sand, set it up pretty much like you like it for turf hunting. Wet sand is a little different. I can't take credit for coming up with these settings, Tinfoil, a fellow poster here passed them along to me...but I can verify that they work. All metal, threshold -1, frequency 7 and manual g/b around 6, but as low as 0 and as high as 12. Listen for those "zip, zip" tones. Hope this helps and good luck. HH jim tn

Hey Nutria, That F75 with the backlight oughta be great...I have the F70 and spent a lot of time on the beaches this summer...one gold ring, very small 2 diamonds and an opal, rang in at 21 on the vid (foil) most bobbypins ring in at 11. I run in AT on the beach...so Im hearing and seeing EVERYTHING...consequently, Im digging everything too...our beaches fill up fast, so a fellow only has a few hours before the people show up...my sweeping pattern is huge...and i'm quick brooming...it will pick up deep quarters and rings at the surfline...like over a foot down...
I would say that on a fresh beach that had people there the day before, looking for "sign" has paid off immensly...twice I saw areas all scratched up, where you could tell somebody lost something, and was trying to finger find it...one had a set of car keys, 4 sac dollars... the other had a SS womens sports watch listed for 100 bucks on E-bay, two thin bracelets, and two junker rings.

So I guess it really depends on what you are after and where you are hunting..since you cant get the control box wet, and the shape of the 11"dd make it hard to swing under the water, I sweep the high sand mostly where the other fellows dont get much..my limited experience has taught me to dig all "bastard" signals...like the one in the picture..

I've used the F75 on the wet sand. Auto GB doesn;t go below 40, so you have to manually set it on 0 or just above. You can use All Metal, but DISC will work just as well.

Found the small nickel coins to be elusive. Sometimes they would be gone in DISC, but in Pinpoint you would be able to find it again.

I can vouch for these, i tested it out today and the machine ran smooth and perfect in sensitivity 80, threshold -1, frequency 7 and manual gb 6. Tested in the surf, no hassles.

Never had issues, the beach I used to hunt at had very minimal black sand. First 10 seconds of detecting on the water line I found a silver ring at 10+ inches and it was a loud tone.
