F75 Bump noise

shooter

Member
Last fall I posted a problem I was having with the F75 LTD sounding off every time I bumped anything with the 11" coil (twig, rock, ground). Sent it in to Fisher and told them what Tom Dankoski told me about the problem, they replaced the coil and today was the first time I got to try it out and it worked great don't seem to have that problem anymore, thank God. I guess Tom was right. thought I'd let you guys know the out come encase anyone every experiences that problem..

Glad you got the fix! I hunt woods frequently and there is no way not to bump twigs, sticks and tree trunks on occasion, and I've had no falsing issues. Mow you are ready for spring. HH jim tn

I remember your post, glad you got it fixed and just in time. I also remember something was said about water getting in the coil may have started the problem. Have you dunked it yet, for a water test?

Don't really know if it did it but it was about the same time, but I siliconed the coil connector and the cover next to it..

Good follow up shooter,I have on accasion had my LTD false on subtle bumps,I will wait till spring and see how things go,reason being is when mine don it,it was only 10-15 deg.out and maybe and I am thinking my batt.where low at the time, and possibly my conn. where loose......We will see........hh rick in mi.

Did all those checks and more nothing helped, and I know normally it might false once in a while from a real hard hit remember this was when it touched everything and even just giving it a little squeeze, falsed so much you couldn't use the coil, switched to my 5" did all the tests and no sounding off..

I am having the problem with falsing when i touch anything. even if the coil touches grass sometime it will start to false it drives me crazy. because
it comes and goes. any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi dhearn, If you can swithch to another coil and see if that also falses if not , then it is the falsing coil that is the problem. If not, then you should check your connection--if you didn't before--to make sure that it is tight and dry. Chances are that it is the coil, this can and does happen every so often with all the makers. Call Fisher and they will no doubt take care of it right now-. One more thing-----check to make sure that the lead is not just flopping around on the rod.-------------------Barney

Been around the world with this problem, the problem is in the coil. Barney II's advice is correct, try another coil, if the noise goes away its the coil, make sure you tell Felix that falsing happens when ever you bump something or tap or squeeze the coil and when you tap the cable from the coil going up. Here is my correspondence with Tom Dankowski that I talked to Felix about my coil problem and he knows Tom and understood the problem, I sent it in and they replaced the coil. Had no problems again. Also attach the statement to the letter for the tech thats repairing the unit, he kept telling me the LTD was super SEN., that I know but after hehad read Tom's Diag. he had no problem with it.

Toms correspondence:

"Shooter........you are encountering 'microphonics error'. You can send in JUST the coil........let them know I believe it's 'microphonics error'. If they do not understand this......they can ask Dave Johnson or John Gardiner.....of whom are very familiar with this issue. You can keep your F75 at home......install the other coil...........and hunt with this config (while your other coil is being warranty repaired). You may find some interesting 'tuition' with the smaller coil.

Metalman............IF your coil has bad problems with wet grass and small twiggs.......AND can not handle very light taps on the coil wire....or coil.....than you have the same problem. It is usually the coil wire that is excessively 'sensitive'......that is a dead giveaway."

Hope this helps you out, Call Felix don't E-Mail him that doesn't work.
