F75 DE/BP to coils

Revier, Here is what I get from the F75 manual on threshold.

Each search mode has several adjustable function settings:
ALL METAL: Threshold (not adjustable in stat mode), Audio Pitch, Sensitivity, and
Manual Ground Balance

DISCRIMINATION: Sensitivity, Discrimination Level, Notch, Number of Tones, and
Process Number.

Next time I put batteries in my machine make some max changes and see for sure it doesn't carry over in to Disc. I know that Audio Pitch listed in with all metal carries over to disc I have used that before. Also I can only GB in disc by using the auto ground grab, if I want to do manual GB I go to the all metal side and do the manual GB there and then go back to disc and uses the manual GB setting.

Pretty sure threshold is preset in all the disc processors.

Ok, just read about this thing and you are correct, static no motion all metal you can adjust it, all others it seems to be self adjusting but no big deal, really, since in normal situations and decent soil optimum thresh settings are advised to be the most sensitive on targets especially the small ones and for the best depth.
My soil is far from normal, my depth is heavily limited because of that so unlike my experience with better soil in disc turning my thresh way negative quiets my unit down in certain situations considerably and I am still able to hit on very small targets at about the same max depth as all metal with maxed out sense and thresh.
Coins anyway.
In Kansas soil I bet turning my thresh too far down would probably cost me in sensitivity and depth but as Dorothy said, "We ain't in Kansas anymore, Toto".

It has taken me over a year to figure out some strange settings to hunt here successfully that I would probably never use in other parts of the country but they seem to work so I will stick with them till I find something better.

Speaking of EMI issues!

Its been my experience with the past few detectors that I've had with both adjustable threshold and sensitivity that the threshold is the go to first to help control EMI with minimum lose of depth (real world, in the soil).
That is to say,
By lower the threshold primarily (first) I get better EMI control vs lost of depth than using the sensitivity, sensitivity will help with EMI but at a greater loss of depth.
So, If I'm out detecting and EMI becomes a problem and I'm running pretty high sensitivity and threshold I will back down the threshold a bit (maybe a couple of times) before I back off the sensitivity, I don't work either control to an extreme before I go to the other.

Keep in mind that I am talking about coin hunting, so items smaller than coins a person may have to use a different approach.
