F75 Headed for the fields!

Headed to the farm fields tomorrow morning with the new F75. I have been using it around my house and getting some practice time in with it and understanding what it says and how it says it.

Currently I am running sens. @ 75 disc @5 DE mode and DP tones. I will be hunting a new field, and I'm pretty excited to see how it does in the relic fields. I will most likely have to make some adjustments based on the ground there however as it's somewhat mineralized soil.

Any suggestions for my maiden voyage with this machine?

Thanks

Looks like you are about right set up wise for your maiden voyage. It is usually good to keep it tame for the first several hours. Even 60 sen will get you excellent depth. Good luck and keep us posted. HH jim tn

Little John , Be patient you can get lots of snap ,crackle and pop from the machine But that is because of the ground changing constantly , I will tell you when you have a good signal you will Know it ! Just my opinion , Good luck I hope you have a good time Ezra.

I think I'd can the Dp for that type hunt and use 2. You're going to dig a good target regardless what good will tones be?

Hey Little John, put your seat belt on. The F75 will amaze you. I always ran it just above iron in the bp mode and single tone. Excellent for all types of hunting.

Well all I can say is wow. Wow Wow....:detecting:...

I was in an area which possibly could hold civil war relics today with the F75 on her maiden voyage to the fields. I started out with sensitivity at 75 but ended up backing it down to 65 to keep it a little more stable. First target was a clad quarter at 7 inches...in the middle of a farmers field..go figure. Dug a variety of fired modern bullets, as well as a clad dime and a few whatzits.

I can say for certain, that when there is a good target under the coil, it makes the sweetest music. I really do like the DP tones, very easy to walk along and see what is going on under the coil. 3 1/2 hours of hunting and my arm feels great no soreness at all.

I know that this will be my go to machine for the relics from now on, I have worked with it long enough in my yard that I am comfortable with all the blips and pops and crackles, and while at one time I was intimidated by this machine, that is certainly not the case now...at all. I plan to do some side to side comparisons with the etrac, but I think the etrac will get used mostly for coin hunting in the parks, and not so much the marathon 9-10 hour days in the relic fields.

Thanks to ya'all for the advice and help I'm sure this detector will be my go to machine for the relic fields. If anyone reading this has any doubt that this detector will go DEEEEEP...think again, it is an absolute monster...and I didn't even have it cranked up...just running mild mannered and stable. I believe that as my experience and confidence with this machine progresses that I will get even better with it.

If you don't own a F75, you owe it to yourself to get one...life is much too short to swing anything less! I can only imagine what the boost and cache mode would add to this ....wow.
