F75 Leather Grip Mod/Upgrade- Question

New member
I've seen a few pictures of F75's with leather wrapped handgrips. The more I use mine, the more I think it needs it b/c over time my hand gets pinched between where the bottom of the foam padding meets the plastic part of the handle. I'd like to put on the leather one. Could someone tell me how to do it and what I need? Do I wrap the grip over the existing foam handle, or do I have to remove it? Where do I buy the grip?

Thanks, Ian

Called my friend who wrapped his F75. I said Golf club grip wrap. ( It in fact was tennis club wrap Leather grip wrap.) I am sorry for the miss quote.Thought he told me Golf Club as he had said Club wrap.

I used tennis wrap on my F70, looks good, feels good. Just be sure to slightly stretch it while wrapping and overlap the edges, just follow the regular instructions that come with the wrap and it will come out perfect. The feel is soft yet firm, you will like it. John

Thanks for the help guys! I went ahead and put on the grip and it worked out great! It feels perfect and makes the detector feel nice and sturdy. Big improvement and highly recomend! Check out the pictures of my "tricked out" F75 w/ FX-1, Killer B's, and new leather grip.

I took cork wrappinf that is used for 10 speed handle bars and put on my detector handles,t-handle shovels, and it works and looks awesome!!!! Little super glue on end of wrap works great!!!

Now that's a good looking mod. How is it on hot days with sweaty hands? Any problems?

Sharp looking, I will say that!

Just finished modding my 2 detectors today. F75 and Ace 250. I must admit, this feels tons easier on the hands. I like the mods.

Looks good! You are right, I think it feels much more sturdy and it's easier on the hands. I've had no problems with mine - it's been wet, hot, cold and muddy - still no problems with it!

I have hunted over 20 hours with the leather grip on with no problems at all! I've been in the hot, cold, wet, and muddy - and it's held up fine. It actually starts to form to the hand a bit as you use it more and more. I've got no complaints at all with it. I love how much more solid feeling the detector is with it. Plus, the F75 is just a downright great detector.
