F75 LTD with a NEL SHARPSHOOTER COIL??

St Bernard

New member
Has anybody used a NEL SHARSHOOTER coil on a F75 LTD detector? If so how does it preform compared to the stock 11" DD factory coil? Thanks

Happens to be my weapon of choice for really trashy sites where I still want to do more than the crawling a 5" forces you to do.
The stock covers a bit more territory and has better depth but in a tot lot the NEL lets you get right up next to the structures with great separation and the sensitivity to small items is amazing. It often amazes me at how it can pick up small sequins and button covers about 3 mm across down 4 or 5 inches .

100% agree with sprching.

I think this is on the buy list for sure. I saw a video about the Sharpshooter on a F75 LTD and it sure seemed to work. I wanted to get other opinions on this coil whether it was worth it or not. I am also getting the Tornado for wide open areas for detecting. Only time will tell. Should be fun and a learning curve.. Thanks for the input guys Thank you again

I have been using this coil on my F75 DST for about a year now. I put it on the F75 and have never taken it off! It makes the F75 a bit more balanced and although the coils are very close in weight, the detector seems a bit lighter. As far as performance, I can tell no difference in depth between the stock and the Sharpshooter. I love the coil. One thing that I have noticed is the numbers come in a bit higher on clad but only by one or two numbers. Separation is really good. It is a keeper for me.

I'm also looking at the NEL coil for my F75. SPRCHING quoted above that it "lets you get right up next to the structures with great separation" but is this in a same environment the stock 11" will over load??

I'd really like to know what others have found since I like to hunt curb strips but it's difficult when the stock coil overloads from the rebar in the concrete. Additionally, the stock coil can't get anywhere near tot lot stuff, but the NEL can get close without an overload??

Keep In mind that the little 6.5" fisher concentric (the little football coil as its called) is a great little coil as well!

I have that 6.5 coil coming as well. Have read nothing but good for the 6.5 coil. Thanks

"WV62" has both the SharpShooter and the concentric 6.5" (among other coils) so he may be able to shade some light on the differences between the two, I know that the Sharpshooter is a DD design vs the 6.5" concentric. I'm not sure if one or the other has enough gains to justify having both?
I know I'm not a big fan of the little round 5" DD coil and I'm pretty sure I would choose either the 6.5" concentric or the sharpshooter over it.

I would choose the 6.5 elliptical over the 5" if the 5 wasn't included with most packages. The 5" is just designed for such intense trash that I seldom have sites to use it. The nice thing about the 75 is the depth it gets with a relatively narrow coil . The stock 11" feels like it covers more ground than it should and is impressive in depth but the coverage works against you in a tot lot or brushy areas where being nimble or getting close can count. The loss in depth with the Sharpshooter , as slight as it is , doesn't seem as important when sniffing next to steel poles or under equipment and it doesn't overload as soon as the 11". The sensitivity can be turned way down with both if you really want to get tight and not much depth is lost. At one time I had the 5 x 10 concentric(elliptical) and let it go with that machine. I wish I had kept it to make a good comparison to the NEL SS. It seemed more forgiving on bottle caps than the SS and had great separation as well. Having both the SS and the stock 11" seems redundant to me.

I've had the 6.5" concentric and the Sharpshooter on my F 75's and quite honestly, I'll take the Fisher 5 X 10" DD over either. And the 5" DD in heavy trash will make more good finds then any of these coils in mention. I've proven that to myself countless times. HH jim tn

Is that Fisher 5 X 10 DD coil still made? I can not find it listed anywhere? Has anyone ever tired the NEL Snake 3.5 X 6.5 coil? Thanks

The only place I could find the Fisher 5 X 10 DD was at USA Detectors in Delaware $ 152.95. Thanks

I have also have the NEL snake coil, it is a elliptical DD coil and kind fits in with the 6.5 concentric and the 5". It seems to be a good coil but I don't really see a big enough difference have all 3 of these little coils. About the only thing is a little better ground coverage over the 5" all three have about the same depth.
