F75 - My first detector

Mr. Rick

New member
Greetings All

I have been lurking here for a while and thought it was now time for a comment. First, thanks to all of you for your contributions to this forum. I have learned much already. I did a lot of research on the Internet before taking a trip South this winter and I thought I knew which brand and model that I was going to buy. Not having a retail store in this area, I waited until my wife and I were in Tennessee. I had made a connection with an Internet dealer that works out of his home but allowed me to visit him. He had many different brands and models to look at. Having never held a metal detector prior to this visit, it was fast apparent as to which one was the most comfortable to hold and swing. The detector that I thought I wanted was quickly dismissed and I purchased the F75. I am not sure if it is proper to mention this dealers name so I will ask that someone please educate me on this matter. He was excellent and spent as much time with me as I wanted.
I live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for most of the year but leave for 2 to 3 months during the winter. I will use the F75 for coin and relic hunting here and hopefully some of the same in various places during our travels. We will be spending a fair amount of time in Virginia as we have relatives in the Appomattox area. I have not had much time to use the detector so far but have found a few modern coins. I learn more each time I go out. This really is a lot of fun and I can see this becoming a significant hobby. I have many different interests but will be sure to find time for this one. I will continue reading here and if I have any questions or if I have an interesting find, you will hear from me. Thanks again to all of you.

Welcome to the incredible world of the F75! You are going to have a blast! Folks on these forums are always quick to help and will guide you through your learning curve. There's TON'S of good info. digging around through the past posts.

First tip from me: Don't try to run it too hot at first! The F75 is a very powerful detector. Do not be afraid to turn it down a little, as you will still get spectacular depth!

Have fun!
