F75 noise

I had the same problem with my coil and for me it also started after I used it in fresh water..
The dealer replaced the coil free of charge.

Thanks for the info . I just sent it back to Fisher. What did they find was wrong?

Sent the F75 back to Fisher, they agreed its a bad 11' coil, I got a few PM messages that said they have gotten that problem after using it in freshwater. Let you know what they did and what they saide.

Same problem after using in freshwater. Mine was so bad It was unusable if you got the coil wet. Just movement alone would cause it to sound off.

Same as Jim and Roland here.......hh..........Bro Dan

Exactly what I had, sent it in to Fisher, maybe the coil isn't so waterproof. They knew just what I was talking about and told me to send it in.

Shooter, have you got your F75 back yet.The reason I ask is mine started doing the same thing, but it was very cold out when it happend(15-20deg.)My fingers were to cold to check the cable nut,but I checked it later at home and it was tight.I noticed it would sound off every time I sat it down to dig,so I started to tap on the cable and it would sound off also, dang it!!!

Grab the coil between your finger right by the cable connection on the coil (top and bottom and sqeeze it and mine would sound off everytime I also wiggled the connector and it would go off, don't remember if setting it down would do it but bumping anything would get a sound, it would only sound off when bumping something, I mean anything. just got of the phone with Felix and it ships back tomorrow. Felix couldn't tell me what the tech found it will be in the letter they send back but he thinks its the coil as Tom Dankowski advised.

"Shooter........you are encountering 'microphonics error'. You can send in JUST the coil........let them know I believe it's 'microphonics error'. If they do not understand this......they can ask Dave Johnson or John Gardiner.....of whom are very familiar with this issue. You can keep your F75 at home......install the other coil...........and hunt with this config (while your other coil is being warranty repaired). You may find some interesting 'tuition' with the smaller coil.

I'll let you know what the letter says.
