F75 on dry salt sand

Coptician

New member
Decided to give it a try since the surf was so rough and I wasn't in the mood to get beat with my PI machine. The F75 LTD did very well in the dry stuff. I found a huge amount of clad and a tungsten wedding band. It auto balanced at 82 and manual balanced the same. It ran very smooth in JE, disc at 15, sens at 85. On dry sand, I'm not too concerned with depth, but even so I was hitting at 10 inches or so. I was impressed and this guy may replace my old Minelab Sovereign for this mission.

You are right, the 75 hunts very nicely in the dry sand. Very little difference between that and dirt. And actually, although there are better units, with a ground balance down in the mid to upper teens, it will hunt in wet sand. Yeah, its a little noisy, but if someone is like me that only gets to the salt beaches once or twice a year, it will hunt good enough not to have to go out and spend the bucks for a salt water hunting unit, IMHO, anyway. Agreed. I hunt the beach with my F75...Patriot...T2.

All of them do fine in dry sand....deeper than I want to dig many times.

In wet sand right at the water line...I can still get 6-7 inches on coins at 60 sens.

I only make it to the beach 4-5 times a year....good enough for my needs.
