F75 Special Edition

New member
I just purchased the Fisher F75 Special Edition. Does this forum discuss the Special Edition because I see a lot of posts about the F75 but none has the words Special Edition in the topics. I am new to this forum so maybe I just haven't looked in the right places yet.
I went out today with it for the first time. Just learning the menu system and how to deal with all the chatter and what it means. I recently had a Minelab xterra 50 but the stock coil went bad so my choice was to buy a replacement coil or move up to a better detector. If anyone can point me in the right direction to get help using the F75 it sure would be helpful.

Thanks a lot

Not to be overly obvious, but there are three posts listed on the main forum page showing special edition or LTD in the title. Since you are a first time poster maybe you don't realize that these are basically the same unit. I have posted several times re: my new F75se. They are there. While we are at it... F75 info will work on the SE/LTDs they just have the added boost and cache processes added. The newer models seem to manage EMI better and may have some subtle improvements in performance, work exactly the same. I hope this helps.

Those Xterra's are some good detectors for sure, got a buddy that can sweep a field with one. That chatter on the 75, tho, is a target per beep and it can sure process the information blistering fast. You will learn to listen between the grunts for good tones or pieces of tones. I like to go with no discrimination and 4 tones with a sensitivity from 70-80 when I can at least most of the time. If you hunted in all metal with the 50, you should be able to do this without a brain collapse with the 75. I dont want to miss anything while hunting for relics but it does take some gettin used to. I found that sometimes I have to just trust the good tone and dig where it happens because if I try to pinpoint it will drag it to another target. Dug lots of goodies like this as to where if I had went with the pinpoint, I would have missed them.
As others have stated, this is the right forum and there are quite a few that know how to use this machine on here.
