F75LTD 5inch double d coil

Does anyone have any experience using this coil it came with my F75 and I have not used it yet. I assume to run it in the boost mode to get max depth and how is the actual coil working for you in your setting. I appreciate your inputs and personal insights on this subject Thanks Ezra.

If you are working a trashy site, either the 5 inch DD coil or the 6.5 inch elliptical are the way to go. The 11 inch DD separates well but with multiple targets under the coil at the same time, the small coil does a much better job. Since you have the 5 inch, use it. Even in some non-trashy but very brushy areas, I'll put the small solid coil on to work in and around the brush and not get hung up in the brush like the 11 inch coil does. I normally hunt boost mode with sensitivity as high as practical (not overly chatty). For me the small coil gets a fair amount of use.
Cheers,

Ezra, I use mine when ever hunting heavy trash and iron. You will be amazed how well it works when you start using it and it gets plenty of depth. Very deep, in fact. In most places I am able to run sen around 90 and at times a bit more and very little to no disc in the B P mode. HH jim tn

Thanks gentlemen for your responses I will try it at my colonial cellar hole when the ground thaws here in Pa. Hopefully with good results. Ezra.

Bart says boost, but I wonder about je? Since it is a high gain process for small gold type targets...
Would it not be ideal for the 5 incher?
Tom (mine comes from TD tomorrow...)

Ezra..
We have been using the 5" coil for a couple of years. It is fantastic in trashy areas like a cellar hole. Whatever other coil you have been using on that machine...this one will be like owning a new detector.

Yeah, Tom D says that too. I just like to see for myself when its free and harmless. I have a world to explore with the F75se compared to my other units.

I love that little coil. I remember putting it on for the first time thinking "I wont find a darn thing with this!" It felt like a kids toy or something. Boy was I wrong! It will flat thump a trashy spot!!!
