F75ltd2 Depth with 5 inch coil?

What kind of depth can I expect with the F75ltd with the 5 inch stock coil. The E-trac with the x-5 coil seems to hit 6-8 on a dime.
What kind of Sen, disc, and best mode for coins.

Here is some quarter numbers if that will help. I would get you some dime numbers but my machine is out for repair.

I have mild soil so what is a good setting for sensitivity? Ground comes in around 55-60

I would say the soil shouldn't give any problem with max 99 sensitivity, you may get some EMI. For me if I am hunting inland jewelry and looking for small items I try to run as much sensitivity as I can, and for me in my area that is close to 99. Now if I am hunt coins I just go with 80 sensitivity, that is not a magic number, I just don't see a lot of depth gain to run higher.

If you going to buy a 5" coil you may want to give that little 6.5" elliptical some thought it gets the same or better depth, more ground coverage. I have both coils and the 6.5" is my pick over the 5"DD. Just keep in mind the 6.5" coil is a concentric coil not a DD. The size of that coil is 6.5" x 3.25".

I have the stock 5 inch coil that came with the f75ltd2

I've been using the 5" coil quite a bit of late and getting cents and dimes 7-8" with good audio. I have the version 2 and finding it is deeper then the LTD I had a couple years ago. In fact, the depth is near amazing with that small coil. Dug a 7" deep wheat this morning swinging over 2" of mushy snow. Running in BP, sen. 95, 0 disc. 1 notch and 3h tones. HH jim tn

The 6.5" is not that much better of a coil to run right out and buy one, you may want to just run the 5" or you may work out a trade with somebody.

For me the 6.5" was a must have so I started watching for a used one as soon as I got my detector. I ran it most of this past summer and found most of my silver coins with it, which included 2 silver half dollars.

Good luck,

I don't know if one might be deeper then the other, but the DD hockey puck size is a laser in trash. I loved the 6.5" for woods hunting. It would slip in, under and around brush so nicely. HH jim tn

Some gold and coil testing results.
