I noticed that when U set the discrimination say at 50 and try to notch in nickels at 30 or any other notch setting it cannot detect it at all with the f75. However, if U set the Discrimination at 21 and notch at 1 or 0 it hits it hard. Also, if u set the detector discrimination higher than 21 it does not detect small gold rings at all. I made of list of TIDs and what their numbers cam up on my F75 with the big coil. This was just an air test in my house. I was not looking to measure depth only tids. I had the Sen set at 0, DE process, 2f, and ended up with disc at 21. I tried notch 7 disc 0 but the best reading was the disc 21, de, 2f, de, sen 0. Here are my tids

It is the NEL BIg coil for the F75

hope to test my finding in a real pounded out yard where I have found 7 silvers, buffs, indian, pocket watch, 2 british pennys, 2 knifes, case tractor watch fob, trade token, and Motel T key. U get the Idea. Lots of stuff found. Pounded this lot at least 20 times with an E-trac, V3i, and F75. If this NEL big pulls out anything it will be amazing.

Hunting for Jewelry, the last thing you would want is a Big Coil. normally a 8 inch or smaller coil works best.
A Large percentage of the smaller jewelry will be in the foil Range, so if your going to 21 on the disc, your discriminating out your small jewelry.

You are right Jewelry is not he thing U would want to hunt using a big coil. However, I want to set my machine to gather as much gold and silver no matter what coil I use. For me the setting to recover small gold rings and larger is enough for me. Most people do not mind discriminating out some of the foil area as a trade off. I am one of them. I did want to make sure i can capture nickel range stuff. I do not hunt beaches. I live in a area of old early a1800s and want to hit the deep stuff everybody else has missed including myself.

Doing some more testing. I have found that even at its higher sen settings DE is weaker than BP at Sens 0. Here are the settings I am going to try in the field

SEN 0 (go up from there to max 60)
DISC 21
Notch 1
Tone 1N
GB + 3 of whatever Fastgrab is
Mode GB. If too much emi DE.

have only air tested these settings on my NEL sharpshooter, NEL tornado, and NEL Big.
Hoping to find more nickel and gold targets. Did less crap and more silver targets (and copper coins)
