I have never used the 5 inch DD coil on my new F75SE, so I thought I would give it a try today to see if it worked OK. I had it on about 5 minutes and decided that it was not enough coil for the large open non-trashy area I was going to be detecting. So I started detecting back to the car to swap coils and BAM I got a solid loud high tone. The ID numbers where bouncing around 85. I just knew I had me a walking liberty half dollar cornered. I carefully dug down a few inches and found a huge silver ring. It may not be a walking liberty but it's SILVER! I spent a large part of the rest of my day riding around looking for a new place to hunt. I found a few, but I felt that I needed a gun and backup to halfway hunt at those places safely. I did find a place that turned out to a great place to coin shoot. Using the Sharpshooter coil I must of found and dug 50 quarters. Every time I dug I was hoping for silver. I figured it has to have silver there because I found a couple of wheat pennies and surely being a sports field there has to be a ring or two lost. No such luck, but I ain't done searching either. I betting that there's at least one gold ring, several silver rings and some silver coins at this new location.

..excited to see what you pull out of that new place next! I hear you on the "bugs" coming out...some of my parks I could not hunt at all last year on account of them..just too thick and would have got mobbed for sure....some sort of sidearm is indeed a repellant, but man, who wants to get into a gunfight over a few pennys? nice work!
Timing is everything, and we missed the window for this year.(Jan/Feb)...the bugs are out...try to stay safe you Memphis hunters, or at least get some pictures of the aftermath and post!
