The Fisher engineers did a pretty good job of setting the defaults. So depending on your area, minimal tweaking of the settings should be all you need to get started. The manual can be daunting at times. I printed a few out for my f70 and all have been hit with a highlighter several times. Definitely learn the ground grab and factory reset procedures.
Those come in handy more often than you think.
