My whole family except the youngest and I don't. My wife keeps telling me to get one. I may soon?

A hint to anyone on face book do not post anything that you want to be kept private, as it is open for everyone to read! I don't use it and probably won't! God Bless! Betty

It is only open to who you want to see it. (Your friends) Also you can do private messages there like here.

got in trouble by putting some info on that took away his disability or something like that, because of those who were reading it.....so better to be safe than sorry! I'm too busy keeping up with this forum without getting on others or Face Book and etc. As you know I write long posts....because I'm too gabby! God Bless! Ma Betty

To much junk on there for me. People are trying to send you this and that. And then a so called friend will posy something stupid and several people see it. That just happened to my family . I do not want any part of it , just something else to take more time from the Lord.

I find it a useful tool to reach others for Christ and to keep in touch with my church family down in Lansing, MI.

I also use Blip.fm to reach others as well for the Lord using music...you can find me there: www.blip.fm/MinisterPete

So far I have over 280 listeners who enjoy listening to Christian music...and I also get to add comments with my musical posts.

I have Facebook set up so only those I have given Friend status to can see what I post. Friends of friends cannot see anything I post.

I do Facebook and absolutely love it. I am totally addicted to it. You can make out of it whatever you want it to be and spend as much, or a little time on it as you wish. If there are applications you do not wish to use, receive, or see, all you have to do is block the application. Personally, I don't play all the games or stuff like that. I blocked Farmville, Slots, and a few others so that I don't even receive the offers to play from other friends. I love it and think it's very cool! However, there are those who misuse it... just like with anything else. Wonderful tool for keeping in touch with folks and finding friends from way back when. Easy to keep up to date on what's going on in your area from friends who find out before you do, good for prayer requests, talking about the Lord, or just plain ol having fun. But, to each his own... Nothing wrong with using it, OR, not using it... If you decide to do it, just be careful that you don't blab things that you wouldn't want the world to know! And make sure your settings are set to Friends Only so that your info doesn't go out across the Web.

Hope Travis doesn't mind me posting under him (this is his wife, Liz), but I have to chime in here. For the last year, I have been an avid Facebook user, but in the last week have developed a love/hate relationship. As of now, I still have my account, but I may not keep it. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be careful when accepting friend requests from others. This may sound childish, but I have learned a huge lesson this week. People are not always who we think they are...even our friends. Even though we keep our information, pictures, etc. private from all but friends only, that does not mean we are safe. A "supposed" friend posted something on my wall this week that was horrible!!! Left it there for all (family, our pastor, friends) to see. Luckily, Travis saw it and I got it erased before too many people saw it. Needless to say, that person is no longer a friend, but I would have never expected something like that to happen. I have always been very choosy with the ppl I am friends with and deny friend requests almost daily. Believe me when I say that my generation (late 20 and early 30 somethings) can easily access any page they want - friend or not, with very little effort. So, be safe everyone! Facebook can be a really fun way to keep in touch with family and friends if used properly!

dont use it or any of the others. too many ways to get in trouble!!!!!!!! now if someone would come out with a all christian type facebook..........

You just have to be careful on Facebook. Choose your friends wisely and be very very careful what you post in the everyone format.

exactly, I see no reason to get in trouble if you are sensible. Almost every person in my church including the pastor and his wife are all on facebook. I also like it to catch up with old friends I graduated with. It is nothing like myspace, that place was nuts. I like facebook because people cannot see your info UNLESS you accept them as a friend. You can be as private as you want. I only accept people I KNOW

I don't play the game things like Farmville either. Keeping in touch with other Christians and also the township officers (who have helped me find some nice detecting places) are good things. Only have 2 people from high school that I know are friends. I do like to play Bejeweled...to see if I can beat my own score. Lots of postings of Bible verse keeps the Word in front of me even if I don't have the Bible in my hand. People witnessing and asking for prayers too. Even have metal detecting friends both Christian and non-Christian.

I have removed a couple of people for their foul mouths but for the most part I have decent people as friends.

and have gotten rid of some who I allowed as friends.

My wife is an avid user also. No problems yet like my space. I don't have any of them. I know of a new Christian one that started not too long ago.

I've had the account for months but not done much with it. Many in my graduating class are on Facebook and want to be friends. I'm getting requests from people that I've never heard of. I don't accept those. It could be a way to present the Gospel to those that you would never be able to get to talk to because of miles seperating us..

There is a Christian based site called ( faithfreaks ) like facebook.
I don't know much about it, but a friend sent me an email about it.
