Factory reset....

EOS

Member
I did a factory reset yesterday on my 705 since I had problem with my 10,5 DD coil and got a new detector!!!!!!!!!..........Went back to a place I

Excellent! Glad to hear you got the problem taken care of. I haven't had the problem you mentioned, but I do a factory reset a couple times a year. As much as I mess with the functionality controls, I figure it won't hurt to get the "brains in the box" restored to normal every once in awhile! :stars: HH Randy

I'm so happy over this forum and your e-book Digger!! Helped me in times of trouble:)
I was on my way sending the coil to Minelab Ireland..but thought I will give it a last chance after factory reset, and problem solved!..

I'm going to Denmark for some detecting and hope the coil will stay stable.
Also I have seen people in reviews about the Coiltek 15DD that its heavy and make the xterra feel unbalanced. For me its no problem, maybe because I mount my 705 the wrong way(see image).
I like to set up it this way.For me its much more comfortable...
And I'm satisfied with the performance of that BIG coil, run smooth over grass and terrain, and it sure goes deep.It definitely find small object, but under the right circumstances, with nothing more under the coil, separation maybe not the best...but hey, you always have to compromise..

Best MD to ya all.

Some have found that restoring the factory preset levels will straighten out some "weird things" going on in their detectors. I don't know what they might be or what causes them. Could be a matter of pressing the wrong buttons when you are trying to make adjustments to your settings. On the same token, I don't know why I get error messages on my computer either! Fortunately, I don't have to call Microsoft to help me out with my detector as Minelab allows X-TERRA users to reset the Patterns, the Menus and the Modes all by yourself. Depending on what model you have, the instructions are located near the end of the User Manual under Factory Presets. HH Randy

Glad that it workd for you EOS!
It's always worth a shot before sending it in.
