Facts about Worry....or stress reduction this Christmas

Here are some facts about worry:

40% never happens (we worry about what might happen or could happen or probably will happen). We get ourselves wound up like an over-wound clock for nothing).

30% concern the past (we think if only we had done this or done that then things would be different, better, etc. or we worry that the devil will tell others about something we already dealt with God about...its in the past. Let it go.)

12% are needless health concerns (any hypocondriacs here?...we worry about something we are not sure of and find out later it wasn't that at all.)

10% are insignificant petty issues (ever get upset because someone drives stupid? or does or says something that is stupid in our eyes? Inconsiderate people shopping???) Why worry about it ya can't change it right? (You can pray for them though..they probably need the prayers!)

8% are legitimate concerns

And with those 8% of legitimate concerns...let's use time management. Don't worry all day about it. Set aside a time say 4 PM to worry about it...opps its after 4 PM oh well...its in the past :)

Seriously the answer is in God's Word.

Here some verses to help you if you are getting stressed this joyous Christmas season:

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

So for the 8% of things go to God in prayer:

Ref Philippians 4:6 above and...
1Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
and remember: Romans 8:31

not to worry! He is in control! :)
