...had a nice couple days that the sun beat down and really knocked back the snow. I see patches of green here and there, but the ground is still pretty stiff. This weekend they're calling for temps in the 50
 
good luck steve...got a few inches of fresh snow here in Edmonton. Oh well, there are lots of toboggan hills..

Looks like good weather coming your way for sure Steve. Got a shovel in the ground today about 1-1/2" and then hit frost. Beautiful skies and just over 40 degrees, (I think thats 0 for you metric guys <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> )Gonna sharpen up the shovels and try it Sunday afternoon.
Let us know how the dirt floor comes out.

In the meantime maybe these will warm you up.I dug the Barber half,1919 SL Quarter,1903 Dime,1906 V nickel and one of the mercs. today.The other coins were dug last week.Hope you can get out there soon....HH
 
...seeing those is giving me buck fever! The ground is still pretty stiff out there, but we're gaining... slowly...
You know it's kinda funny, it's easy to take things for grant it until they're gone. I guess the one advantage of living in the frozen north is a person learns to really appreciate the soft ground and the green grass by the time spring rolls around again each year.
Can't wait to get back out there again. Thanks again for posting all those neat finds over the winter to help us get by!
