Fairly new coin for such and old place

Wasn't expecting to find anything in the 1900s at the place we went to today but it's always good to see some silver.

Only I'm not usually real happy with it at the time. Last year I was detecting a very small area which had given up only pre 1750 finds. This particular site was French, and at these places silver coins are very rare. We do find the lower grade mixed ones, but in 5 years I have never found a high grade one. Anyway, the place was getting kinda a quiet but I guess I must have turned the right way and got one of those signals that stops you dead in your tracks. With EVERY other target being early my heart began to race when I slowly moved the dirt to see a very solid silver coin. At least I thought, I have finally dug my first high grade old silver out of one of these sites. What did the coin end up being, a darn 1880s Can. quarter. I guess the unespected is what makes detecting so addictive and I don't shead too many tears when I find a Reale at a place I think dates to late.
