Got in a short hunt this morning so to beat the heat with my yard work. Un-fortunately, didn't beat it. Not to long into my morning swinging, saw a car stop on the nearby road and a guy gets out and heads my way. I pulled my head phones off, laid my detector down, but kept my digger and dew rag visible in my hand. He just wanted to talk about detecting as he was about to retire and thought "metal detecting might be a good hobby" as he was a coin collector. We chatted for several minutes and after inviting him to our club meeting which just happens to be tonight, he asked if he could follow me around for a few minutes. I said certainly, but good targets on this spot are few and far between. I started inching my way along and about a minute later got a sweet repeatable signal. I told him I thought I had hit a coin and began to dig. At about 5" I found the target with the Pro pin pointer still in the hole. Chiseled around the spot with my Predator and as fate would have it, recovered a 53d Rosie. Not sure he is quite ready to spring for a F 75 LTD to start out with, but he is sold on the hobby and is going to check out some of the posts here on the Omega and F 5. The two detectors I like in the price range he mentioned. Anyway, also dug a Scout kerchief slide, some sort of George Washington Commemorative coin, 2 toasted wheat cents and a clad quarter and dime. 11dd coil. sen 85, disc 4, de mode and 3h tones. Way to play some heads up ball...you just never know who or why somebody is approaching you...That token is from Shell oil co they made them in brass and aluminum...I found a brass one a few years ago....Yeah, you finding that silver in front of a coin collector was the bait that will for sure hook this guy to our addiction! Evidently, God wants him to "seek some treasures here on earth" a little, this form of treasure seeking is good for the soul, mind and body!
Nice Job!:clapping:

Just remember, failure to tithe results in bad karma! :nono:

WTG Jim nothing like showing him how it is done from the very start. A little kindness is sometimes rewarded instantly. .....Z
