Hi, all:
As much as I like the pro coil, it still doesn't find it all in trashy areas. I've been hunting a 100 year old park with some good success, finding some old silver and IH pennies. I decided to go through some of the trashy areas again with my 8" FBS coil. Was surprised to be getting shallow coins that the 11" pro coil had missed, due to the concentration of trash. I'm talking even quarters at two inches deep that the 11" coil didn't see. Today, I concentrated on a trashy area between where cars park and the picnic pavillion. Traditionally, an area full of foil, tabs etc. I found fifty coins. All clad but one. All four inches deep, or shallower. Mostly shallow. I did pull a somewhat beat up 1907 O Barber dime at four inches in the middle of the mess. If you don't have a small coil for areas littered with trash, you are missing the boat.
Thanks for looking and keep on diggin'
