I don't claim to know much about electronics....but is there a limit you can extend the coil from the control box and still function a signal like it does 3-4 feet away? Just curious.

Hello Neb Trac some say 3 metre is some limits? but to know it would be best to test!

i just bought an extention cable for mine on e bay. it a 5 conductor coiled HAM radio microphone extention with the threaded connectors allready on it. ive only air tested my my detector--no field work yet--but it seems to work fine. it only streches to about 4 feet. ive heard before that too much cable could cause problems but i dont remember what effect it has. probably lower sens. on smaller targets. -mike-

Thank you all for participation in my contest, and thank you all for possible suggestion, but still no one gived info about this type of coil cable, and this makes me worry. Minelab,Coiltek,Detech and possibly Sunray use them, so why is so big secret that so many people do not know ,where to get like this raw 4metres cable? still want to believe that somebody will tell or sell this cable,,for logical cable price,, and will take my prise! thank you all Stasys

stacys--- ive serched online and called different suppliers and every dealer i could think of, in the last month, and came up with a big "negative" on locating that kind of cable. i wish you luck in your search for it. if you do find it tho....let us know where to get it. i wouldnt mind getting about 10 feet myself. i wonder if they use similar cable for fish finders? they work off of frequancy and are sheilded cable too. i never thought to check that market. you can buy that stuff in length. just a thought. -mike-
