Feedback on 10" coil using the F2:fisher:

Need some feedback on F2 using a 11" coil please:please:HOW much difference in depth, and general use ?Anyone know right off what price is on the 10" coil for the F2?Thank you james

Sorry I meant both the 10" coil and the 11" d.d. coil ,is there that much difference between this two coils:confused:Thank you guys-james

Never used the 11"DD, got the 10" round one instead because it was half the price.
Supposedly the DD is a bit better in mineralized ground and the disc is good but not as sharp as a concentric, (DD's stumble a little around pop tops), and I was living in a state with almost perfect soil so the concentric made more sense.
A little deeper than the 8" coil by about 2", seemed to get stronger clearer signals on most of the deeper targets 5" and beyond.
Not the lightest thing in the world but pretty easy to keep it flat and glide it along the ground in grass...but not rocks.
Even though I bought it I rarely used it and only for a few hunts because the sniper was my deadly weapon of choice and stayed on the end of my rod most of the time.
That big coil was lucky for me, however.
Even though I didn't use it many times on one hunt it found me a lifetime bucket list item...a gold pocket watch.
For that reason I will always have a fond memory of this coil.

Basic differences between them is in good soil the concentric will go as deep or deeper than the DD but the scanning field deep is smaller near the very limit about the size of a quarter, while a DD's coil field is thinner, runs along the center and all the way down so even though overlapping is important there can be a little less concern with this on a DD.
Snaking around and through trash a DD coil is more efficient because of that thinner scanning field.

As mentioned pop tops on DD's usually mimic dimes and quarters pretty good but this is common on most every detector and brand.
There are techniques you can use with the DD coil to ID and avoid them pretty easily, however..most of them anyway.
Pop tops are usually a non issue using most concentrics.

I never weighed one but the big DD coil might be a little lighter.
