Figuring out the Etrac

Member
Well I only got a few weeks in last year.. This year I have about 80 hrs in and I'm started to figure it out.. This tribe of Indians and the key are from the old courthouse and county jail about 1850's,,, Then a hunting party in the front couple of days ago.. In the park yesterday, which isn't giving up the old ones easily, I found a couple of silver rings.. But a sweet high tone popped through then to iron, and I only could move the coil about a inch or so but the high tone was repeatable... Dug about 5" and sitting on a root was this quarter,, On the the edge of the root was a nail head protruding, a 4" nail !! Liking learning this machine..

Great finds and outstanding pictures Cosmic . Love the color variations of the Indians ( nice effect you arranged ) . You are doing very well with your machine . What coil are you using ?:thumbup:

Thanks.. Stock coil.. I just listen for the high tones and look for the consistency of the conductive #'s

Neat bunch of finds. As an E-Trac newbie, it is nice to see other experiencing success.

Very nice, cosmic. Good to see a newbie to the ET gettin the goodies. I've had my Etrac nearly 3 months, and never took it out of the box until this past weekend. I decided before I actually received it, that it isn't for me. But I needed to find buried wires before they began the trenching for a cable to the garage last Saturday, and thought it might go deep enough. That didn't happen, but now that it is assembled and I've turned it on for the first time, maybe I try it out for the coins and jewelry that I bought it for.

You don't suppose the bank robbers broke the key off after they locked the sheriff in his own jail do you? Very respectible finds. Thanks for showing them to us.
