Final hunt with the Ace.

Took the Ace out yesterday and hit my favourite spot plus hit the playing surface of the local touch footy fields. turned up just over $10 and the most unusually damaged 20c piece. It must have been hit twice by a lawn mower to end up looking like a piece of eight that they find in England.
I've had it on my mind to cull the number of detectors that I have (5), so decided that now is that time to reduce that number a bit. I'm off loading 3, which includes the Ace, X-Terra 30 and the XLT. I'm going to replace them with the X-Terra 70. After having used nearly all the detectors on the market that I'm interested in, I'll have the GTI 1500 as my primary heavy detector and the X-Terra 70 as the primary light weight detector with the Explorer as a back up. I find that I only ever use 2 detectors, so it's silly to hang onto so many units.

sorry to hear you getting rid of the ace Mick i think you'll miss it once it"s gone but i hear the 70s a good detector :thumbup:
how much are you selling it for ?? my boys been at me to get him one give me a PM when your going to sell & i"ll try to wrangle some $$$ from the boss.
 
Oh well, a man's got to do what he needs to do! Personally. My ACE would be one of the last to go, but I have 13 machines at present with no plans to do any culling.
 
At 13 you're up close to where I used to be before I weeded them out. I'm down to nine I think. Feller really only needs one but it's so hard to just have one. :)

Part of me wants to hang onto it:cry:. I've had a lot of fun with it. If I can't live without it, I can always buy another one. I just haven't got the spare space to keep what I have. I'll just have more time to play with the GTI.:thumbup:

I've heard that the 5x10 coil can get in fairly close, but in general, it's not going to match what you can do with the sniper coil. If hunting in bark chips was something that you do a lot of, then IMHO the Ace is unmatched.

Personally I'd keep the Ace and use it as a loner to loan to friends who have never been detecting.
Nice way to meet new birds, unless your already married.

Apart for being spoken for,:poke: I've just posted it off to it's new owner.:cry: I had a lot of good hunts with it, but feel that I've got too many machines. I'm parting with 2 more soon. Both non Garretts. Having fewer machines will simply mean that I'll be more proficient with the ones that I'll keep.
If I suffer from withdrawals, I can always buy another one.

Sometimes you just have to make a choice. i sold detectors that I liked but there is no point of keeping them all... unless you have no wife:devil:
