Final waterproof Goldquest SS

These pictures sent out to the person who emailed me recently about setting up the Goldquest SS into a watertight box...apologies as I have lost your email address.
Not one drop of water leaked into the housing, even after 1 hour of submersion in 2 feet of water. The original REJECT and ON/OFF knobs were replaced for smaller profile ones, and the metal belt clip removed from the control box.
I had the two 12mm holes professionally drilled as they need to be accurate. Any chipping or fractures around the drill hole edges can allow water to bypass the O-ring under the gland. I had them solvent weld a plastic belt clip onto the back of the case. A basic soldering skill is all you need.
I've made sure the whole thing was kept as simple as possible, whilst being 100% watertight.
Contact me if you have any problems.
Regards,
Tony.

Nice job! Who did you get the case from, online or instore?

I was able to purchase from a company here in Australia <IMG SRC="/metal/html/ausflag.jpg" BORDER=0 width=32 height=17 ALT="au~"> .
They are made in the USA <IMG SRC="/metal/html/flag.jpg" BORDER=0 width=32 height=17 ALT="usa~"> I think most countries would have their own supplier.
I've tried about three of the main companies that manufacture these style of cases, and Pelican are by far superior for my purposes.
Tony.

Most Dive Shops in the USA carry the Pelican line of waterproof cases. And the one Tony used is usually in stock at many Dive Shops as I have seen them in my travels. Many of the Online Diving Supply Stores also carry them.

Tony, look like neat cases. Approx how much, and who did you get it from in Oz, if you dont mind saying. Cheers, Allan.

Hi Allan,
The actual supplier is not far from you.
The company is the Queensland Case Company.
The Micro-case 1060 cost about $35.
The hyperlink below will take you to their site....and then just click on "Pelican Cases".
Regards,
Tony.
