Went for a spin this evening, with the Excal, into a 731P -1.1L and SW winds at 5-10. Coastwise and Lady Coastwise had gotten to the surf a little earlier. Coastwise is wise, so I let him pick the spot, as my choices have been lackluster as of late. He calls me and says his Excal is not working and did I bring my back-up pod. I said yes and I would be there shortly, to fix him up. He installs the new pod and nothing. He's dead in the water! Gotta send that unit in for some warranty work. Damnable misery of it is, we are in peak season! They had brought the ACE 250s, with 9X12" coils. LCW usually hunts with one anyway and Coastwise, just used the ACE, instead of the Excal.
We finally got out there and started hunting at 5P. I was on a hot spot in the surf and coins were coming to hand. One of the 1st targets, was a HEAVY .925 ID bracelet. It weighs 2.16 Troy OZs or 67.2 Gs, whichever way you like it! I like it! Total clad count here was $2.77 and recovered a large ferrous hoop. The ring was a nice surprise and is 10K and I was mighty glad to see it!

I had moved on down the beach and Coastwise and Lady Coastwise, had swung into the area, that I had recovered all the loot, just to see if I missed anything. Coastwise pulled a DOOZY outa there, right where I was, with the ACE 250! Well, hopefully he will post that fine unit for ya'll. It's very nice and I was glad he was able to capitalize, after the Excal quit on him. They went home and I relocated at a little after 8P.
Was back in the water by 815P and picked up $.60. This nut can be seen to the right side of the nut pic. The tide was coming in already, so I bailed at 9P, as the surf was sanding up. I'm pretty happy!

I can't decide which detector to use tomorrow.. I'll bring them both but I'm leaning towards my PI.
