After about 6 months of swingng the 705 i think it is finally becoming my friend:cheekkiss: In the past several weeks i have swung and swung and swung. Finally, i think it is speaking to me:) I have found wheats, relics, odds. and one silver. But mostly what i have gained is, that i think i am learning its language. "Today was a great day. HH.

Good! Now don't stop learning. The more that you get accustomed to it, the more nuances you become aware of. And then you start to notice other differences with different coils, which leads to better coil selection and greater successes.

My Xterra never ceases to amaze me. I learn on each outing, even if what I learn is what not to do. Often it's picking up on a tone characteristic associated with a speciffic target and coil, but it can involve anything from the effects of changng the Tracking Offset to various experiments with Prospector mode. All of the options and combinations of setups will have me learning on this machine for a while yet.

It just keeps getting better from here on in. Making that initial connection is only the beginning. Now the real fun starts.:bouncy:

It take some time to grow in with your detector.Im totally comfortable with my Xterra 705 now.Its like a family member you known for a good long time.
My brothers XT705 behave different, and I would like to say that every other xterra have there own individual sounds and behaviour. Just like a car..or a cat :)

It have become my best detector for hunting fields. Its a winner there. 5x10" is favorite coil right now.Had have so much good finds with that coil and it paid itself many, many times.

Just waiting for the snow to melt. A feet and half of that white fluffy thing make it impossible to swing..

Good luck with your xterra.

Mike

The person who masters a 705 with all 3 frequencies is as dangerous as McGyver trapped in a Radio Shack warehouse!

:drool:Now I have to dry off my laptop keyboard. Awesome find Muleman.:clapping: A big congrats to you!! Terry Soloman and his mighty vaquero need to see this.

The more you swing one the more it will sing sweetly to you :)

705 is 'more and more' becoming my buddy. Went detecting on a new spot sunday evening, I didn't find much, (some clad) and copper and aluminum pieces, but I identified everything accurately 95% of the time. " Screw caps, pull tabs, can slaw, pennies, quarters, old style pull off tabs". " Pretty much the only thing that is fooling me at this time is the zink pennies and soda bottle screw caps, They both seem to give a solid 30, I think with paying close attention to the sounds i'll get better with the zink pennies and screw caps.
