Finally bought a Minelab !!!! YeeeeeeeeeeHaww !!

Hello everyone !

Well I finally bought a Minelab !!.. I bought a used Quarto and WOW, what a nice stable, deep-seeking machine. I had it about 2 weeks and so far I've found one nice Mercury dime and countless DEEP wheaties. My first good detector was a whites XLT, which served me well for about 8 years, so I decided to upgrade a bit and bought a new Whites DFX. After swinging the DFX for 3 1/2 years I came to the conclusion that the DFX was nowhere as good as the XLT. It seemed to be unstable most of the time regardless of sensitivity settings, so most of the time I was detecting with a lack of confidence in the DFX. The proof was really in the amount of quality finds, after several years with the DFX, I had nowhere near the finds I accumulated with the XLT. So, I was lucky to find a GREAT deal on a used Minelab Quattro, and now my confidence is back and I can't stop detecting every chance I get. I've been digging some DEEP holes !! and finding very deep coins. The slower recovery speed does'nt bother me much. So, this Quattro will end up being my back-up detector when I either buy a new safari or E-trac next spring !! I just wanted to share my excitement and I'm sure I can get get some good advice from everyone here. Good luck to everybody !! Johnny Quattro
