I finally figured out what I've been doing wrong as well as securing permission to hunt on some enclosed land.
I've been trying to get too clever with the Ace, instead of just digging on any half decent beeps. My rubbish removal has increased, but good targets have as well.
I made an approach to the supervisor of this good spot on Friday. He was very hesitant about letting me in, in fact he very nearly refused to allow me in. Anyway, I got to hunt for 2hrs 45 for a net return of $27.60. That's an even $10 an hour! It's the best result that I have had with the Ace, And the best one since the end of last year.
Also On Friday night, I got a phone call from one of the mum's in my son's football team and wanted to know if I would allow them to use my fairy floss machine. They had contacted someone else who wanted to charge them mega bucks. Having approached the school last year to secure permission to hunt there, I was refused. So instead of charging them money to use the machine, I asked If they could give me written permission that will allow me to hunt in there whenever. This mornig they contacted me to say that that was a good idea.YIPPEE! I'll find a lot more in coins in the playground in repeated visits than I ever will with one visit with a fairy floss machine (I'll have to refer to it as my third detector). Isn't it amazing what a bit of leverage can do. This school is the second biggest in the state.
Back to yesterday and this morning. Did 2 hunts for a total of $14.75 and 2 pendants. One of which is a half a heart!
That brings the total to just on $40 for the last few hours of hunting.
I can't wait till the week end gets here so I can hunt in that school.
Gotta go.
