Today, me Luke and my son went out for our first spin of the season. Well first in homeland since i did some in puerto plata during winter vacations.
Of course, the snow is just starting to melt. We had warm enauph weather all week to meke it interresting for snow hill hunting. Unfortunatly, we got about half an inch of snow last night, as if winter is hanging in thight and dont want to let go. But today was going to be warm enauph, so i took out my trusty Tiger shark as it's the best tool for canadian clads. My tiger just got back from tesoro's factory for a repair and they exchanged my leaky coil for a nice new one.

We started the day at the local snow hill. Sky was covered with dark clouds, but we soon realised we were overdressed and were sweathing like pigs :)! Temperature was about 10 degress celcius (think about 50 deg. farenheit).

Here is Luke assembling his brand new Tiger shark he just baught.

At first, things were really slow. We couldn't find coins where we used to find them last year and the year before that. I had my theory about that. I noticed that the new inflatable raft they use to slide down hill have a plastic botom and i think the old ones didn't had any bottom. This is why we usually found coins on the trail where people lie down on their raft as the cable pull them up. coins were falling from their pockets.

So i decided to go down hill, at the very end of the slope where there is a line of tires with a cable to prevent people from going too far in the parking lot. Soon i started to pick up signals a lot. People were bouncing on the line and they often flip down. Also they usually get up there and pick up their raft and that's where the coins that were on the bottom fell down too.

Anyway, i had a ball there and found several loonies and twonies. Here are our results for the first hill visited today. I had a bigger stash (coins on the carpet) because i started hunting that area first. Luke also got some coins (coins on his hands) :

We broke for lunch at noon and drove to an other snow hill in Montreal. We actually two hill in Montreal after the first one in my town. The other hills were less prodctive thaugh...
Here is luke at the second one. Think he just got a twonie :

The last one was pretty taugh. On one side, there was just too mutch snow. and since it's starting to melt, we could walk without sinking into two feet of snow. Fortunatly, the north side was a bit better. Here is luke again on that third hill :

Well, i didn't found any jewelry. wasn't expecting any anyway. I ended up with 19.78$ and I'm completely exausted ! Ahhh the feeling of being completely exausted after a long and painfull hunt. Okay i didn't found any gold, but was happy to hunt with my trusty tiger shark again and it worked very well, picking coins up to 12 inches deep.

Here i am back home. I'm standing next to where used to be Fort Guillaume. Remember that one ? As you can see, there is a lot of snow to get ridd of before we canactually hunt for ground coins, and since that mutch snow has to go by, river levels will be high for a while too ! It was fun to see all that snow melting. as i stood up there, i could here the constant noise of water dropplets falling for the ice bench.

Well, that's it for today...
