Hi all... tides are midday and its too hot to go out and get cooked. So I needed to get the boat running since it had got some water in the fuel ( darn ETHANOL). Took a little work but I got it going... So I decided to dump in in my lake and see if I got it all. I did a few laps and decided it was running good. I went back to the house and did a little laundry for the wifey so she would be happy. Sittin around surfin the web for a while I decided I needed to get out and hunt! So I grabbed the DF and walked down to the boat and decided I would try the party bar where ll the boats pull up and hang out. Got the usual clad and beer caps/pull tabs and headed back to the house to swap the wash. Sat around for a while and decided I would head out to the old swimmin hole, it was platted in the 40's between 2 houses for the people in the neighbor hood not on the lake. Since it wasn't used for years for the most part it was over grown with torpedo grass and hydrilla... found a 5 in car speaker, then the grill a foot away. Kept workin the area and was finding old clad hoping for my first silver coin, no luck...
I did find the granddad of pull tabs
never seen one that old. So I kept bangin out a lil more clad and then I find a dirty silver ring with an enameled smiley face
Not bad that makes 9 or 10 silver rings since July when I got the DF. I was ready to go since I did find a ring, I figured it was the best find of the day. Well being the 13th I figured I was lucky despite the date. I said to my self a few more targets and I would motor back to the house. so I dig a few more and then BAM... I popped my cherry!!!
So it was my first gold 14k and I'll take it! Gonna hit the other swimming hole tommorow and maybe I can do it all over again.
