Finally, Finds for 2011

I finally got it together and am posting our Silver and other finds
All have been placed in coin holders and I have removed some for better viewing
Interestingly, I realized from looking over the coins that aside from very few Silvers found in 2009, the other Silvers found in 2010 added only to 22!
This makes me realize that I have only been detecting for under 3 years and have only had the ET for about a year!
That is probably why we have our finds together and have only recently identified who found what.
Next year all finds will be clearly identified and hopefully will reach the same or more.

Our Total are as follows;

23 Rosy's, 23 Merc's, 11 Washington's, 1 War Nickel, 2 Standing Quarter's, 2 Walker Half's, 3 Barber Dimes, 2 Canadian Dimes, 1 Bolivia 50 Centimos.

68 SILVER

1863 NYS Civil War Token, 2 Indians and 2 Large Cent's.

Very impressive finds. A lot more than I found. Congrats. I like the coin covers also. Maybe I will see if I can find some of those. I just use the folding paper ones.
Cheers
Doc

You have a very nice collection of silver there. Hopefully, 2012 will bring many more.

Very nice collection there Eva some really beautiful coins!

Very good year! Hope 2012 is even better.

Very respectful finds I always enjoy your posts! Congratulations on a great year!

Great silver finds. If you don't mind me asking, how many hours a week do you detect on average? I had my E-Trac since late July of 2011 and found 9 silver (4 dimes, 4 quarters, 1 half), but I only hunt about 3 hours a week.

I laughed when I read your post...in one word...ADDICTION

I try to go out whenever the weather allowed and towards the winter months
we used head lights since it got dark at about 4

But these efforts to detect during the week coincided with our son's after school activities
Twice a week we travel an hour away to a historical area where our son does training
During the 2 hour or so he trains we would detect in and around the area and then
when he finished we would drive an hour back home

Weekends like everyone else would be the best times for detecting but I am self employed so I have taken
a 2 hour lunch and gotten out to some local parks during the week when I needed the "MD High"

And I want to add that whenever we travel anywhere we bring our detectors just in case:twodetecting:

I recall when we arrived at a tournament, possibly in Boston, I entered the hotel with the ET over my shoulder and another parent
who is a Police Officer in Canada asked my son if I really had an MD and why?
He answered, my Mom does not go anywhere without her detector!

P.S. It is REALLY the LOCATION and the ET that is needed to find SILVER

And P.S.S. Thank You All For Your Nice Comments
This forum is like extended Family and Friends and I Hope everyone Had a Happy and Healthy New Year

I agree that its all about the location. If you can find a good location the E-Trac can do the rest. Its interesting that all of the silver I've found with the E-Trac were found in yards or vacant lots where houses once stood. I've yet to find a silver in a park or school (they've all been worked pretty hard) with the E-Trac. Unfortunately, I don't get to MD as much as I'd like -- like most people I have to balance my time between MDing, wife, work, and chores around the house. Anyway you guys did a great job -- keep it up.

You mentioned your wife first about the other issues with your time.
My take is, she is a Lucky Woman!

All the Silver we have found have been in Parks and Schools. This year we have private property lined up and I hope for success.
Looking forward to your posts too!

Regrds and HH

Nice collection of silver and you've really gone all out with the beautiful coin holders. Adds a professional touch.

Very impressive Eva...and now that you have the Magical Super Silver Finder (Herb's ex) you will triple that in 2012.

Hope 2012 is more prosperous,

Looks like a great season, congrats!!! Those are some beautiful dated SLQ's too:clapping:

I would love to be able to find some Large Cents like that too, they are pretty scarce around here.

Looking forward to seeing your finds from this year especially with you getting more proficient with that detector.

Thanks for sharing
