I haven't had a chance lately to go detecting with the 550, It's just been too hectic around here.
We went for our anual excursion to Macinaw City MI for the "Brige Walk" this past hilday and we always stay with relatives in nearby Cheyboygan. I got up early Saturday to hit the county fair grounds but was turned away at the gate by some people asking too many questions, Hmmmm Wonder if they were security? <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> .
Any ways I ended up at a local Kiwanis park in town that really had an older apperance to it looking at some of the playground equipment. Dug up a pound of pull tabs and other clads but my most interesting finds was this 1928 Buffalo Nickel that got some additional wear from the other coins in my pocket.
I was really excited, (My first Buffalo).
When I got back to our aunts house away from town I was cleaning the heavy crud from the other coins and was down right in awe when I tried to find the date on this other Nickel. Two tails! Now we're all into trying to figuire out How, or better yet it was detrmined Why? would somebody sand a Nickel down and solder it to another? Heads I win tails you loose maybe? I know it's not the best of pictures and you can't see this in the bottom pics but, on the edge you can barely see a seam and it's just a tad thicker than a regular Nickle.
HH Jeff

I found a quarter, similar to your nickel. Both sides heads. After a little research I found that these are made for magicians routinely. I thought I had a real find at first but after visiting a magic supply shop found them to be plentiful.
