Finally got a digging fix!

The ground is still frozen in shaded places but not where I was digging. The first site was where my old maps show a school in the 1860s & '70s. Not a thing but deeply buried cans aarrgg & dang.
Just down the road is where the school was moved at one time. I had hunted it about my first year of detecting. Needless to say the EII sniffed out a few goodies. Here are the keepers plus about twenty wheat backs.
The star thing is a pin (on back). Anyone know what the thing in the middle is? It is soft metal with a loop on one corner and possibly a missing loop on the other corner.
Great to get out again, HH - Robin
PS I was really hoping for a 1913 V nickel oh well...

Nice finds Robin! I can't wait to see you're finds when it really warms up <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> . WTG!
